- Language and interpreting skills – understand messages in English and express them in your native language and vice versa.
- Understanding of medical terminology – knowing basic anatomy and medical terminology in both languages.
- Cultural awareness – the ability to make the patient feel comfortable to express very personal subjects and sensitive topics.
